Gerald L. Guy

Author Gerald L. Guy has been drawn to the written word for as long as he can remember. Whether it was “Jack in the Beanstalk” as a child, “The Hardy Boys Mysteries” of his youth, or “Moby Dick” of his teenage years, words stirred his imagination.

Raised in the farmlands of Ohio, Guy began his professional writing career as a sports writer for his hometown newspaper, The Tribune Chronicle.

“In my mind, it was the best job in the world,” he says. “The only thing better than watching sporting events was being paid to watch and write about them. I loved it.”

He eventually left sports writing behind and progressed into management. Under his leadership, he and his staffs won numerous local, state, and national awards for editorial excellence. He was the editor of daily newspapers in Ohio, Georgia, and Wisconsin before retiring in 2004.

Upon retirement, he left the Midwest for Florida, where he lives today with his wife, Joanne, and enjoys hiking scenic trails and sunny beaches.

Guy continued to produce short stories and freelance articles for various publications. With the advent of digital technologies, he began an independent writing career in 2016 with his first novel, “SARA: A Hero’s Story.” Since then, the author has independently published more than thirty novels across several genres — romance, fantasy, mystery, western, and historical fiction. They attract readers of all ages.
